Last year, tuberculosis cases in Missouri fell to the lowest level since the state began keeping good records in 1944. Missouri had 157 cases of TB in 2001, compared to 211 in 2000 – a 26 percent decline. Governor Bob Holden says the figures prove that public health officials throughout the state are committed to working together to eliminating the disease.
