Officials with the Doe Run Lead Company have released a list of nearly 20 locations in the Mark Twain National Forest where they want to drill exploratory holes for lead. State Attorney General Jay Nixon, who opposes the drilling, wanted the information for some time but says the lead company officials had dragged their feet on releasing it. The new sites are near current Doe Run mining areas inthe eastern part of the state. The US Forest Service is expected to decide this month whether or not to allow the company to drill.
