House Democrats have introduced their plan to help both education and transportation in the state. An 850 million dollar spending measure will combine plans for each. The initiative is called the Pennies Up for Schools and Highways, or PUSH, and it will put two measures together in the legislature… and then on to Missouri voters as a ballot issue. If the initaitive passes, property taxes would go down, but sales taxes would increase by a cent and a quarter. The funding would pay for the infrastucture of the roads and school buildings.
