The Kansas City Royals have resigned right-hander Paul Byrd to a one-year deal worth about 850-thousand dollars. The Royals, in a midseason trade with Philadelphia, acquired Byrd and he immediately became one of their most dependable starters. In a Royals uniform, Byrd went 6-6 with a 4.05 ERA.
