The Blues lost despite outshooting the Blackhawks 22-18 and committing just four minutes in penalties. St. Louis trailed 1-0 after one period, but they tied the game in the second on a goal by Daniel Corso. That ended the highlights for St. Louis. Tony Amonte snapped the tie for Chicago with a power play tally at the 1:16 mark of the third and Mark Bell iced the game 12 minutes later. Brent Johnson made 15 saves in defeat for St. Louis.
