The St. Louis Cardinals made their first big move of the offseason official yesterday, signing free agent closer Jason Isringhausen to a 4-year, 27-million dollar contract. The righthander saved 34 games last season for the Oakland A’s and he closed out both Oakland wins in their first-round playoff series loss to the New York Yankees. Isringhuasen is very familiar with the Cardinals, he grew up in Brighton, Illinois which is just 30 minutes away from Busch Stadium.
