The Governor’s Conference on Higher Education, held in Kansas City, has focused a lot of the life sciences. And, an education consultant told the assmbled business and academic leaders that Missouri has a lot of catching up to do if it wants to become a state known for life sciences research and manufacturing. Walter Plosila says the next few years will determine whether Missouri would just coast on strengths in biology-related manufacturing or aggressively expand into more life sciences research and the commercial spinoffs that could result from the research.
