A change of heart by the Missouri Farm Bureau is welcomed by by Governor Bob Holden, but a spokesman for the Governor says many obstacles to raising taxes for transportation still remain. Governor Holden failed to win over the Farm Bureau during the last legislative session when he pushed through a transportation plan. The Bureau now says it could support the right kind of tax hike. Spokesman Jerry Nachtigal points out the proposal must pass the Legislature, and then must still be approved by the public.
