The American Civil Liberties Union is expressing concern over some of the goings-on at a St. Louis area school district. The Hazelwood district will get automatic notice from a law enforcement cooperative if one of the district’s employees is charged or arrested for certain criminal offenses. The Regional Justice Information Service will receive $6,000 annually from the Hazelwood district for providing the information. School officials say it will help them to protect the students from unfit employees. The ACLU is warning of potential abuse.
