The sentence is life without parole for a Kansas City man who dragged 6-year-old Jake Robel of Independence to death during a car-jacking in February of last year. In handing down the sentence, a Jackson County judge called Kim Davis “a tedious, incompetent and bungling coward … a very unsuccessful criminal.” Young Jake became entangled in the seatbelt of his mother’s car when Davis drove off with the vehicle. Prosecutors had sought the death penalty.
