Senator Jean Carnahan has delivered the weekly Democrat Radio Address, calling for Congressional action on an economic stimulus package and help for workers laid-off in the wake of the September 11th terrorist attacks. In her comments, Carnahan criticized House Republicans for standing by their version of a stimulus bill – a bill she believes will not help those who are most in need. Carnahan says she’s pleased that House and Senate negotiators have agreed to get together to try to iron out the differences in their versions of a stimulus package, but she’s also calling on President Bush to get involved in the effort to break the logjam.
