Missouri firrefighters should be able to better deal with airline crashes and fires thanks to a new simulator available through the University of Missouri. It looks like an empty airliner carcass with gas burners. The burners are used to simulate the fire on the plane, and burn pans can be placed up to a half mile from the simulated crash site to mimic what would happen during a real crash. The simulator can go to the departments needing help, and it allows fire departments nowhere near an airport train their firefighters, because airplane crashes and fires are more likely to happen away from airports.
