It’s deer hunting season and hunters are out in force. But deer can pose problems, this time of year, even for those who have never picked up a rifle in their lives. The state’s deer population is at its height this time of year, and the Missouri Insurance Information Service says that leads to a lot of accidents. On average, there are eight-thousand deer-vehicle accidents in Missouri every year. Statistics show the majority of all deer-vehicle accidents in the state occur during the fall of the year, attributed in part to behavioral changes associated with the mating season and the bow and firearms hunting seasons.
