The Missouri House Interim Committee on Nursing Home Care Giving has wrapped up a series of public hearings with a meeting in Jefferson City. The panel will soon give the House Speaker recommendations for making improvements. It could be a few days or even a couple of weeks before a final package is put together, but Committee Chairman Sam Berkowitz of Memphis says that package should start to come together Friday when panel members meet to go over all the testimony that has been heard during four public hearings throughout the state. The Committee has been investigating nursing home operations, including quality of care, occupancy rates, and staff turnovers. A report is due by November 30th.
