Parents of the children who were taken out of northeast Missouri’s Heartland Christian Academy last week are being warned not to take their children back there. Adair County’s chief juvenile officer, Mike Waddle, says Heartland is still considered an unsafe environment for children. He says children have been released to their parent’s custody, not to Heartland’s. Officials at Heartland claim as many as 70 of the 115 children removed last week are returning this week. Waddle accuses Heartland of dispensing misinformation and making misrepresentations.
