The pilot of an airplane that crashed near the Joplin airport in July reported to air traffic control just before the fatal crash that he was not able to turn on the automatic runway lights at the airport. And a transcript released by the Federal Aviation Administration says the pilot also thought he had plenty of fuel left, when he apparently had almost none. Six people from the state of Louisiana were killed when the plane went down about three miles from the airport.
