After a rough 13-16 campaign a year ago, the Southwest Missouri State mens basketball team has high hopes for the 2001-2002 campaign. Head Coach Barry Hinson is entering his third season in Springfield and he has nine letter-winners returning from last year. SMS was picked fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll, although they did receive one first-place vote. Matt Leon had the chance to speak with Coach Hinson recently and get an idea what the colorful head man thinks about his squad.
