A young man charged with kidnapping a 10-year-old girl in Kansas City, Kansas, then killing her and leaving her body behind a Grain Valley, Missouri church has pleaded guilty to a federal murder charge. Keith Nelson admits he murdered Pamela Butler in 1999. He denies raping her, though prosecutors say the evidence says otherwise. The federal prosecutor says Nelson kidnapped Pamela Butler, sexually abused her, and used an electrical wire to strangle her behind the church before leaving the body in some nearby woods. The plea comes days before Nelson was to go on trial in federal court in Kansas City. A jury will still be convened Monday to decide whether Nelson will spend the rest of his life in prison or whether he will be executed.
