The Pittsburgh Steelers used a punishing ground game and solid play from their defense to hold off the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday 20-17. Pittsburgh totaled 203 yards rushing on the day, 122 of it coming from Jerome Bettis. Pittsburgh’s defense held Kansas City to just 106 net yards passing and also scored a touchdown as Chad Scott went 61 yards with an interception of a Trent Green pass early in the third quarter. Priest Holmes had a huge day in defeat for the Chiefs, rushing for 150 yards on 20 carries and scoring two touchdowns. The Chiefs are now 1-4 on the season, 0-3 at Arrowhead Stadium.
