Darryl Kile pitched five shutout innings to improve to 16-10 on the season as the St. Louis Cardinals moved into a first-place tie in the National League Central with a 5-1 win over Milwaukee. St. Louis is now dead-even with Houston for first-place in the National League Central. Jim Edmonds and Fernando Vina homered last night in the win, Vina’s was an inside the park shot. Albert Pujols added three hits and three runs scored to the Cardinals cause. St. Louis tied Houston because the Astros lost to San Francisco 4-1.
