The Kansas City Royals hit four home runs, including three in the first inning and then held on down the stretch to beat Detroit 8-7 on Thursday. With the win, the Royals earn a split of the four game series. Carlos Febles, Carlos Beltran and Raul Ibanez all went deep in that first inning while Dee Brown added a solo shot in the sixth. On the mound, Mike Macdougal allowed three earned runs on six hits in five innings of work to earn his first Major League win. Roberto Hernandez struck out the side in the ninth for his 26th save.
