As a result of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington earlier this week, the PGA Tour has decided to cancel the World Golf Championships in St. Louis this weekend. It’s the first tour event to be called off in five years. The original plan following the attacks was to cancel Thursday’s first-round and then play 36 holes on Friday, followed by 18 each on Saturday on Sunday. After further discussion however, it was decided to cancel the entire event.
