The STate Senate has given preliminary approval to a prescription drug plan for senior citnzens. It’s a proposal that focuses on seniors with the lowest incomes. The vote approving the bill followed six hours of debate in whcih 21 amendments were offered. The plan would limit the program to individuals with an annual income of $12,000 or less and couples with an annual income of $17,000 or less. The House will debate its version of the plan next week.
