After a less then stellar preseason performance, quarterback Joe Germaine was traded on Monday by the St. Louis Rams to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 6th-round draft choice in 2002. After dealing Germaine, the Rams signed free agent QB Jamie Martin to be their eventual back-up to Kurt Warner. As a result of Germaine coming to town, the Chiefs had to make room on the roster, so veteran signal caller Bubby Brister was released.
