Results of the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests have been released, with the state’s public school students making gains in several areas. Education Commissioner Kent King says he’s pleased with the improved scores in such areas as math, science, and social studies. But he believes the scores could be better. He gives the state’s overall educational system a grade of C-plus. As for Kansas City’s troubled school district, King says it will be several months before the individual results can be studied to determine whether the standards for accreditation are met.
