Plans are in the works for layoffs at the Department of Mental Health. The Department plans to give pink slips to 74 employees as part of its plan to cut $25-million from this year’s budget. The cuts, which would have to be approved by Governor Bob Holden, would affect mostly clerical and administrative workers – not those providing care to the mentally ill or developmentally disabled.
