A leading Republican lawmaker says legislators angry over Governor Bob Holden’s collective bargaining executive order might work to force the issue onto the agenda of the upcoming special session. House Republican Leader Catherine Hanaway of Warson Woods acknowledges some GOP lawmakers have dicussed circulating a petition to have the Legidlature call itself into special session. It’s a tall order, and would require convincing three-quarters of both chambers collective bargaining should be discussed. Hanaway says the concept is only in the thinking stage, and Republicans would require help from Democrats if it were to become a reality.
