State highway commissioners are considering plans by the Missouri Department of Transportation to save about $160-million in the next five years. MODOT plans to cut more than $30-million a year in spending in an effort to improve workforce efficiencies, business improvements, system improvements, and facilities and equipment consolidation. The Department is not considering any layoffs at this time.
