The Kansas City Royals avoided a weekend sweep in Minnesota on Sunday, beating the Twins 10-5. The Royals pounded out 20 hits in the win with Mark Quinn and Mark Sweeney each cranking out four each. Sweeney’s day included two home runs and five runs batted in. On the mound the Royals get six strong innings from Paul Byrd who wins his third straight decision to improve to 4-4 on the season. Kansas City goes 6-6 on their four-city, 12-game road trip.
