People are living longer these days, wihch means nursing homes are filling up. Staff shortages throughout the state are causing more cases of abuse and neglect. The Division of Aging says workers need to be paid more to reduce high turnover rates at homes. It adds many nursing home staff members feel unappreciated and don’t have job satisfaction.
