Many state agencies are suffering from budget cuts, but one area not affected to a great degree is the arts. The Missouri Arts Council says it has received all of the funding it requested, but are withholding 20 percent until it determines what is needed to balance its own budget. The Council recently distributed $4.6-million to programs throughout the state, putting Missouri funding for the arts in the top ten nationwide.
