There was some good news yesterday for the Kansas City Royals as they signed second-round draft pick Roscoe Crosby to a five-year deal. He’ll receive a 1.75-million dollar signing bonus. The 18-year old Union High (S.C.) product played centerfield in high school. As a senior he hit .516 with 16 home runs and 42 runs batted in. Crosby will report to the Royals Gulf Coast Rookie League club in Baseball City, Florida today. He is also planning on playing football for Clemson University this fall.
