Jeff Bagwell bacme the first Houston Astro since Andujar Cedeno back in 1992 to hit for the cycle, leading the Houston Astros past the St. Louis Cadinals 17-11. Bagwell singled in the first, homered and doubled in the fifth and tripled in the seventh. For good measure he added four runs scored and five runs batted in. Give the win to Ron Villone out of the bullpen for Houston, he’s now 4-3. Some bright spots in defeat for the Cardinals, Mark McGwire and Albert Pujols went deep and Bobby Bonilla cracked his 2000th career hit, a 5th-inning single of Villone.
