Governor Bob Holden has signed legislation authorizing the state to issue $35-million in bonds to help build a $75-million basketball arena at the University of Missouri-Columbia. In exchange for the authorization, the school has agreed to pay $1-billion for academics. In addition to the state bonds, $25-million has been pledged by an anonymous donor.
