Officials with the Missouri Department of Agriculture ae working with local law enforcement officers as well as humane society groups to enforce provisions of the Animal Care Facilities Act. One seizure this week saw more than 200 animals at one location. The state stepped in with local humane societies to try to care for all the animals. Missouri is one of the few states to regulate the companion animal industry – cats and dogs – through the State Department of Agriculture.
