The new Director of the Missouri Department of Corrections says his department needs money and a better wuality of life to get good workers. Gary Kempker took over the department at the end of May coming from a long, law enforcement background of about twenty years. In just more than a month on the job, he has seen the Department’s biggest need is having enough corrections officers to do the job. Kempker says his department needs to have enough quality people working for both the officers’ and the prisones’ sake.
