Governor Bob Holden is under fire for running up nearly $78,000 so far in travel to various parts of the state to sign bills and to conduct other business. The Governor has, on several occasions, traveled to different cities to take part in ceremonies at which he signs bills which have already signed into law. Holden says this is an important part of building coalitions. But Republicans claim the Governor should be more mindful, during these tight economic times, of spending money for these excursions while many programs are seeing their budgets cut.
