The Jefferson County town of Kimmswick maintains its unrelenting fight against location of a casino just outside of town. The State Gaming Commission is investigating whether the Isle of Capri company is fit to build a casino south of St. Louis, in Jefferson County. Opponents of the casino proposal say it would destroy the ambiance of their historic little town. But Isle of Capri officials say the town will benefit from the casino. Both sides accuse the other of misstating some facts and ignoring others. The Gaming Commission could make a decision within weeks.
