Jean Carnahan is into her third month as a United States Senator. During a Missouri Democratic Party event Saturday in Hannibal, Senator Carnahan told the Missourinet the job is very challenging and requires a lot of time and patience. But she says she enjoys taking on the tough tasks she must deal with on an almost daily basis. One of her top concerns as a federal lawmaker is the Bush Administration’s tax cut proposal. Senator Carnahan says it is more important to cut the deficit than it is to cut taxes.
