A state Republican leader says the party has left the political wilderness now that it has control of the state senate. Missouri Republican Party Executive Director John Hancock admits to a bit of surprise about the special elections this week that gave Republicans an 18-16 majority in the senate. He says this gives the party a voice in shaping state public policy. Hancock says the results of the special election bring a new era to Missouri politics.
