An osprey chick has been spotted in Missouri, the first such sighting in a hundred years. While ospreys will migrate in and out of Missouri, none have made their home in the state, until now. State Conservation Department ornithologist Jim Wilson is excited about the recent development. He says the nest with the young Ospreys was located west of Clinton, on Truman Lake. State officials have brought nearly 30 osprey chicks from Minnesota to various lakes in the state to try to re-establish the bird here. None had produced offspring until now.
