The highway patrol says it knows of nine people killed in Thanksgiving holiday traffic crashes, a number well below the average. Lieutenant Chris Ricks says there were seven single-fatality crashes and one with two deaths. He says weather was not a factor, but inattention and lack of seat belt usage probably were. Ricks says the number is down from past years, but still too high.
