Senator Kit Bond says he has lost a political rival….and a good friend. Bond told fellow Senators he admired and appreciated Mel Carnahan despite their political differences. Bond says he and Carnahan were friends for 30 years, who did not let political differences stand in the way of their friendship. He says no one can pretend to understand the pain the Carnahan family is suffering. And he says the fruits of Governor Carnahan’s work in the state will be felt for years to come.
