A ballot initiative to change the way political campaigns are financed in Missouri will be on the ballot in November. Scott Mills of the group Missouri Voters For Fair Elections says this will be money candidates can count on, when they might otherwise think it would cost too much to run. Dan Mehan of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce says, ironically, Mills’ group has raised 75% of its money from outside the state. The Chamber is critical of the measure, saying it will force voters to fund fringe candidates.
