What appeared to be a routine traffic accident has turned into a murder investigation. Police answering a call that a car had hit a building found the driver, Sikeston resident Sheila Box, seriously hurt. It was discovered she’d been shot in the chest. Police the gunshot wound didn’t come from inside the car, nor did it appear random. The murder weapon and shooter have not been discovered. Box died during emergency surgery.
