Kurt Warner’s deal is done, and it’s a big one. The Rams quarterback has agreed to a seven-year contract, that will pay him 46.5 million dollars. The deal includes a franchise record 11.5-million dollar signing bonus, which Warner says is the key. NFL contracts are not guaranteed, but the signing bonus is paid up front. Following the 2002 season, the Rams have a 6-million dollar option to pick up the final four years of the contract. If they choose not to pay the 6-million, Warner becomes an unrestricted free agent at that time. The bonus and the total contract are both the highest in Rams’ history.In Thursday’s afternoon workout with the Tennessee Titans, the results were somewhat predictable. The Titans defensive front had an easy time with the Rams’ offensive line, which had rookie Kaulana Noa filling in for a hurting Ryan Tucker. The Rams’ receivers tore through the Titan’s secondary, which is riddled with injuries. On the final play of pracitce, Titans receiver Kevin Dyson caught a “Hail Mary” pass that had been tipped by Rams’ linebacker Mike Jones. Jones, of course, tackled Dyson on the one yard line to end Super Bowl XXXIV.
