New legislation will result in more money headed for the Missouri State Fair. Governor Carnahan signed a law assuring the extra funding. Senator Jim Mathewson, one of the sponsors of the legislation, is pleased with what he feels is new found money. It is really state fair fees that weren’t being invested; now they’ll park the fees where they’ll appreciate, and pick up an extra $12,000 or $13,00 a year.
