The Springfield Board of Public Utilities has adopted a long-range plan that includes the potential use of “green” power in the future. Ernest DeCamp, the spokesman for the city utilities department, says customers could soon get a chance to harness the power of the wind. Springfield has bid on some power for sale out of Kansas. A Wind turbine complex in central Kansas offers the wind-generated power.
