Federal prosecutors in Kansas City say they plan call former Duke University star Corey Maggette into court to ask him whether he took two-thousand dollars from summer league coach Myron Piggie. Maggette’s testimony could have two effects. If Maggette says he took the money, a federal judge could give Piggie a stiffer sentence for his guilty plea on conspiracy charges. Also, the NCAA could declare Maggette ineligible, and strip Duke of its national runner-up finish in 1999. Duke might also have to repay 226-thousand dollars in tournament revenue.
