An explanation of why gasoline prices are higher in the middle part of the state than they are in some other areas. Tom Kolb of Jefferson City Oil says central Missouri feeds off the same oil pipeline as the northern Midwest. He blames high prices here on high demand in Chicago and Milwaukee, which Kolb thinks drains the whole system. Kolb also mentions service station attendants are catching a lot of the flak, even though there’s nothing they can do.
